Hi Rebekah, it’s Salli. My first thought is, I’m not even a bit suprised that you have started a podcast, and I want to send you my best wishes for success. Second, I’m glad that you will be discussing church culture; specifically American Christian church culture. I’ve been attending my current church for about 7 or 8 years and still feel rather an outsider. I do have a couple friends that I meet with on occasion outside of church, but that’s about it. And forget about getting really involved in anything. Or being heard if one feels the groupthink is going awry. I always get the feeling like they want my hands and my resources but not my brain. It’s frustrating. So I am looking forward to hearing your take. I used to think it was something wrong with me. But I don’t think so anymore. Maybe partially, but the church doesn’t look like church anymore. They want to look like the culture. They deny sin is an actual offense against God. They’ve replaced the Gospel with group therapy. I’m rambling…. Anyhow, see you on the NtB! Take care, God bless you.
